The Broad Band Light (BBL) laser by Sciton is a type of intense pulsed light (IPL) laser device used to treat many common skin concerns. BBL laser treatment is fast, effective, minimally invasive, and has no downtime.

This powerful and versatile device uses pulses (i.e. flashes) of light at varying wavelengths to treat and correct many medical skin conditions as well as common cosmetic concerns. The versatility of the BBL laser allows our physicians at Cenla Dermatology to tailor treatments to each patient. The board-certified dermatologists at Cenla Dermatology determine individualized settings for every patient and treatment with BBL laser.

Most patients require 3-5 treatments with the BBL laser, spaced one month apart, for effective correction. Our providers at Cenla Dermatology will discuss with you the number of treatments needed based on your individual skin concerns.

Since this device uses pulses of light, treatment with BBL is virtually painless. After treatment, patients may experience some slight redness around the treated area for a couple of hours. Treatment with BBL laser does not compromise the skin, so you can put on makeup or sunscreen immediately after treatment.
